Coconut Milk Rice | Kobbari Palu Annam


Cauliflower – ½ head, cut into florets
Carrot – 1, chopped into pieces
Onions – 2, medium sized chopped
Green chillies – 4, sliced in the centre
Potato – 1, chopped
Peas – ¼ cup fresh or frozen
Beans – 6, chopped
Coconut milk – 2 cups
Basmati rice – 1 cup, washed and soaked for 15 to 20 mins.
Oil – 2 tbsp.
Salt to taste

To make into a paste

Cardamom – 2 or 3
Cloves – 4 or 5
Garlic – a few pods
Ginger – an inch


  1. In a pressure pan, add the oil and once hot, add the onions and green chilies. Let the onions brown.
  2. Now add to it all the vegetables and mix well. Add the rice, paste and salt to it and mix all together properly. Cover and cook for a few minutes. Add the salt and stir.
  3. Now add the coconut milk and mix well for a couple of minutes.
  4. Pressure cook for 2 whistles and it is done. Ready to serve.
