Simple Paniyaram | Paniyaram with Idli Batter | Gunta Ponganalu

Ingredients

Idli batter –  1 cup
Split urad dal –  1 tsp.
Mustard seeds  –  1 tsp.
Hing or asafetida –  ¼ tsp.
Ginger –  a small piece, grated
Onion – 1 finely chopped
Green chillies  –  2 finely chopped
Salt to taste
Oil – 1 tbsp.
Oil for greasing

Method

  1. In a small pan, fry the urad dal, mustard, hing, ginger, green chillies and onion. Sauté well.
  2. Add this mix to the batter and add salt to taste.
  3. Grease a paniyaram pan. Put spoonfuls of the batter into it and make hot paniyarams.
