Rice – ½ cup
Tuvar dal or kandipappu – ¾ cup
Carrot – 1 chopped
Potato – 2 chopped
Tomato – 3 chopped
Peas – ¼ cup
Coconut pieces – 1 tbsp.(optional)
Salt to taste
Ghee – as per your requirement
Bisibella bath powder – 2 tsp.
Tamarind – lemon size soaked in warm water and juice extracted
- In a pressure cooker, add the rice, dal and vegetables with about 3 cups of water and salt and cook for 1 whistle.
- Cool and remove lid. Add the tamarind and bisibella bath powder to it and cook for another 1 or 2 whistles. You may add the coconut pieces here if you wish.
- Check for taste and before eating, add ghee to enhance the flavour.
