This is a very simple breakfast recipe that you can easily make at home using maize daliya. These ponganalu are healthy, nutritious and very filling. Its best eaten with coconut chutney at the side.
Maize daliya – ¼ cup
Dosa batter – 1 cup
Onion – 1 chopped
Tomato – 1 chopped
Green chillies – 2 chopped
Oil – 1 tsp. for grease
Ghee or butter – ½ tsp.
Water – ¾ cup
Salt to taste
- Roast the maize daliya in a small pan with ghee or butter for a few minutes. Take a small pressure cooker and add the maize daliya to it along with water and salt. Pressure cook for 3 whistles.
- Take another vessel and put the dosa batter into it. Add the onion, green chillies and tomato to it with salt. Also add the cooked maize daliya and mix well.
- Take a paniyaram pan. Once it is hot, lightly grease with oil. Put spoonfuls of the batter to make maize paniyarams.
