Mera Rice Rava Upma | Protein Packed Upma

Healthy Upma made with Rice Rawa


Rice rava – 3/4 cup
Yellow Moong Dal – ¼ cup
Peppercorns – 10 no.
Cumin seeds – 1 tsp.
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp.
Chana dal – 2 tbsp.
Peas – ½ cup
Peanuts – ¼ cup
Curry leaves – a few
Green chillies – 2, sliced
Oil – 1 tbsp.
Ghee – 2 tbsp.
Water – 3 cups
Salt to taste


  1. Soak the peanuts and chana dal in warm water for minimum of an hour.
  2. In a pressure pan, add in the oil, and after it is hot add in the cumin, mustard seeds, pepper, green chillies and curry leaves. Saute for few seconds and add in the peas, peanuts and chana dal. Mix well. Cook for 2-3 mins.
  3. Now add in the moong dal and rice rava and give it a good stir.
  4. Next add in the salt and water. Bring to a boil.
  5. Close lid and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles. Serve hot.
