Tomato Dal | Tomato Pappu | Tomato w Tuvar Dal


Tuvar Dal – ¼ cup
Tomatoes – 2 big chopped
Green chillies – 2 chopped
Turmeric – ½ tsp.
Salt to taste
To temper
Mustard seeds – 1 tsp.
Split Urad dal – 1 tsp.
Cumin – 1 tsp.
Curry leaves – few
Garlic – 6 pods
Oil – 2 tbsp.

1. Take a small pressure cooker and add the washed dal, tomatoes and green chillies. Add ¾ cup water to it.
2. Pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.
3. Mash the dal well, after adding salt and turmeric powder.
4. Do the tempering and add to the dal and give it a boil for the flavors to combine.
