Potalakaya or snake gourd – ¼ kg cut into circles
Coconut – 3 tbsp, grated
Salt to taste
Turmeric – 1/2 tsp.
Oil – 1 tbsp.
Mustard -1/2 tsp.
Split urad dal – ½ tsp.
Curry leaves – few
Cumin – ½ tsp.
Red chilli powder – 2 tsp.
- Take a small pressure cooker and boil the potlakaya pieces with a bit of salt and keep aside.
- In a kadai, add oil and once hot add the split urad dal, mustard and cumin.
- Once they splutter add the cooked potlakaya, salt, turmeric, chilli powder and mix well.
- Lastly add the grated coconut, stir for a minute, add the curry leaves and remove from fire.
